Phek, March 27 (MExN): Minister Planning & Co-ordination, Land Revenue, Parliamentary Affairs Government of Nagaland, Neiba Kronu on Friday said that the International Trade Centre (ITC) at Avakhung, Phek district will bring closer relationship between India and Myanmar and improve the economy both the countries.
However, he said that the success and progress of the trade centre will depend on the people; their participation, extensive utilization, hospitality, honesty, cooperation and dedication, a press release informed.
He stated this while inaugurating the guest house and marketing shed at International Border Trade Centre, Avakhung on March 26. The trade centre was constructed by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland.
Referring to India’s Act East Policy, Kronu emphasized the prospects of trade with Myanmar. He stated that the trade between Myanmar and Nagaland will also open up trade with other South East Asian nations and alleviate Nagaland’s massive dependency from the rest of India while also expanding India’s economic relation with these countries.
The intermediate road from Lazaphuhu to Avakhung via Akhegwo will commence soon and thereby even the Wazeho Cement Factory will have more scope. Kronu requested the public to co-operate with the concerned authorities during the construction of road so that the road projects are completed in time without hurdles.
Kronu was accompanied by public leaders of CPO and Puchory Hoho. President of Puchory Hoho, Chonpa assured full cooperation for construction of roads and other activities.
