Dimapur, November 22 (MExN): The Jangpetkong Senso Telongjem Dimapur (JSTD) celebrated its golden jubilee on November 19 with the release of a jubilee souvenir and a programme at Saku’s Mission College, Dimapur.
According to a press release received on Monday, I Bendangliba, (Retd) Director, Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, exhorted the gathering and the jubilee souvenir was released by KT Wapang, Chief Electrical Inspector (Retd).
The main speaker of the programme, Dr Walunir spoke on the topic ‘Twangwang’ (Prime Time), and said that Jangpetkong has had its time of glory in the past, but that it cannot live on past glories alone. Stating that it is time for the people of Jangpetkong to broaden their scope and horizon so that they can accommodate not only themselves but also shelter others, he said that collaborative works need to be initiated by the union. Leaders should also identify people with potentials and task them to do better.
The jubilee planning report was delivered by Imtiakum Pongen, Convenor, of the Jubilee Planning Committee. Under Convener L Ningsangwaba Pongen, a Jubilee Resolution was adopted to organise an for Academic Excellence Trust under the aegis of JSTD, the release stated.
