Nagaland down Lakshadweep 7-0

Nagaland’s Junior Boys team today made a good start by defeating Lakshadweep 7-0 in its first match at the ongoing Junior Boys National Football Championship 2024-25 (Dr. B.C Trophy) at Nurul Amin Stadium, Nagaon, Assam.
Naphan opened the account for Nagaland in the 15th minute and later connected three more goals in the 36th, 39th and 80th minutes. Atsibu netted two goals for Nagaland in the 60th and 75th minute while
Ayhunlo fetched another goal for the team in the 85th minute.
“We are very satisfied with the performance of our boys. They played exceptionally well,” said head coach Khwetelhi Thopi.
There are some areas where we need to improve and we will do in the next match, Thopi said.
Nagaland will next play against Haryana on August 1.
