Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) today observed the United Nations (UN) Day with Tyrannus Boys Hostel, Jakhama below St Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Jakhama.
Legal awareness and Essay Writing Competition marked the day.
Kezhokhoto Savi, Assistant Professor, Kohima Law College, Kohima, said that United Nations Day is observed on October 24 each year and marks the official establishment of the United Nations in 1945. Savi said the United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organisation whose primary role is to maintain world peace and security.
He also stated that the UN is a very important organisation for playing an important role in developing friendly relations among countries, achieving international cooperation and being a centre of coordination for nations.
In legal awareness session, Zasitsolie Bio, Advocate, Tiakumla and Keduvi Zhotso, both Panel Lawyer-cum- Advocate presented various topics on legal services including Article 371A of Indian Constitution, etc.
The programme was led by Puchole Zaphu, Panel lawyer-cum-advocate.
