KOHIMA, April 21 (MExN): Khriesavituo Nakhro of St. Joseph’s College emerged as the champion of the Inter College Naga Wrestling competition, the marquee event of Alder Fest 2025, hosted by Alder College, Kohima.

The two-day annual college fest, held from April 16 to 17, drew students from across Kohima and featured a diverse lineup of competitions and performances aimed at promoting talent, healthy rivalry, and cross-campus camaraderie.

The Naga wrestling event, held on the second day of the fest, saw the participation of 22 wrestlers representing various colleges. Nakhro’s victory capped off a spirited contest that drew considerable attention from attendees and participants alike.

Earlier, on the first day, the fest featured the fourth edition of the Open Arm Wrestling Competition, which was won by Vibo Neikha, and the Open Fitness Challenge, where Luvoto Rhakho took the top spot. These contests reflected the fest’s growing reputation for encouraging physical fitness and strength-based sports.

Adding to the creative spirit of the event, students took to the stage during an Open Mic session that showcased performances in music, dance, spoken word, and poetry. Local talents Savizo and DJ Sanna of Infinity Inc. closed the event with musical sets that energized the crowd.

Beyond the competitive and cultural events, students of Alder College also set up food and game stalls, gaining hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and event management.

Alder Fest has become a cornerstone of the college’s academic calendar, embodying its commitment to holistic education by merging learning with meaningful extracurricular engagement. The festival continues to serve as a platform that fosters unity, celebrates diversity, and nurtures a spirit of collaboration among the student communities in Nagaland’s capital.
