Khulioh King FC thrash Mt Pongen FC 10-0 in TDFA League opener

Khulioh King FC made a sensational start to the 2nd Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA) League 2026, defeating Mt Pongen FC 10-0 in the opening match at the Loyem Memorial Astro Turf on Saturday.

The league was inaugurated by Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Tuensang, Saku Chigmak, who attended the opening ceremony as the special guest. The programme began with an invocation by Rev H Sangkap of TTBL, followed by a special performance by the Tuensang School of Music. TDFA president Menya Wongto Chang welcomed the participating teams before the ceremonial kick-off.

Khulioh King FC took control of the contest early, with Thangpong scoring twice in the eighth and 13th minutes before Bin Mongba’s own goal in the 16th minute handed the side a 3-0 lead.

The dominant display continued after the break as Longkhoi scored in the 52nd minute, followed by Thangsoi in the 67th minute to make it 5-0.

Muthiu added the sixth goal in the 76th minute before Thangsoi struck again in the 80th minute. Ngou made it 8-0 two minutes later, while Thangsoi completed his hat-trick in the 86th minute. Tuma rounded off the scoring in stoppage time (90+1) to seal a comprehensive 10-0 victory.

Khulioh King FC dominated possession throughout the match with relentless pressing, quick transitions and clinical finishing, while Mt. Pongen FC struggled to recover after conceding three early goals and failed to create sustained attacking opportunities.

The victory gives Khulioh King FC the first three points of the campaign and an early boost in goal difference, while Mt Pongen FC will look to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
