Kiphire is a land full of resources, said Chief Minister Nagaland Neiphiu Rio while attending the much-awaited development road show-Mongmong festival of the Sangtam Nagas at a packed local ground today. The chief guest was accompanied by his cabinet colleagues, senior government officers and leaders. Addressing the gathering, Neiphiu Rio said festivals are not only a time for merry-making but also a time to learn and reflect on culture. Culture will then be passed on to the younger generation and all of what has been inherited, the chief minister said. Comparing Nagas to societies in the rest of the world, the chief guest said, ‘Nagaland is a land of festivals and it is only in this land where we make merry even at the time of work and not only at the time of harvest. This makes the Nagas very unique’.
