DIMAPUR, APRIL 18 (MExN): Public leaders of Kiphire have resolved to jointly tackle law and order problems that may arise in and around Kiphire town. The Kiphire Town Council, GBs and United Sangtam Likhum Bumji (USLB) held a co-ordination meeting on April 15 last to address issues related to the safety of the town’s citizens.
Any group, faction or individual threatening officials or the public, hijacking passengers, collecting rations unofficially, kidnapping and activities which are undemocratic and non-traditional if caught in the act will have to face stern action.
The assembly also resolved to co-ordinate with the Kiphire Town Council during the execution of any developmental works in the Town areas. Further, the GBs affirmed to extend all possible help during the implementation of demolition drive of the congested buildings constructed on the roadsides.
R. Joshua Sangtam, Chairman Kiphire Town Council chaired the meeting while Kiato GB pronounced an invocation prayer.
Earlier, Yangkyumong, Head GB, while welcoming the members to the meeting expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Kiphire Town Council for organizing the meeting and expressed hope that they will continue such gestures of practice of socialization which would harbour in a conducive atmosphere for peace and harmony so as to expedite any developmental activities in the district.
The chairman of the Kiphire Town Council R. Joshua Sangtam thanked the meeting members for their co-operation extended to the Kiphire Town Council in all round development for the welfare of the people.
