Kiphire, March 19 (MExN): Department of Health & Family Welfare Kiphire district held training on COVID-19 for health workers in the district on March 19.
Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Sarita Yadav IAS in her speech urged all the trainers to be serious in the training because whatever they learn through it will be imparting to the public. She also informed the hospital staffs and doctors to maintain personal hygiene since they will be always dealing with the patients. She stated that till date Nagaland state is safe from this virus, but if it reaches us we cannot be safe as Nagaland is still lagging behind in medical facilities and appeal to all to form the habit of using masks and hand sanitizers.
She informed the public not to panic but to take the precautions seriously so that we can be safe from the virus. She also informed that closure of schools and colleges has been declared to control the spread of the virus and so encouraged the parents not to let their children move around unnecessarily out of their homes.
Dr. Pewezo Khalo, DIO in his keynote address stated that the Medical department is trying their best in preventing this virus and are ever ready to manage the crisis. He urged the public not to spread rumours in the social media also not to believe them. He also encouraged the staffs to impart proper information to the health workers so that they can disseminate the right message to the public in their respective places.
Chief Medical Officer Kiphire, Dr E Motsuthung Patton who delivered the welcome address asked the participants to be cautious on the COVID-19 and appealed the health workers to disseminate proper information to the public.
Medical Officer DHK Dr Dheni highlighted about the training and gave detail introduction about COVID-19. He highlighted about the preparedness if real time come in the district. The MO said that isolation place, quarantine for both boys and girls were ready in the district.
The programme was chaired by MO, DHK Dr Apila Sangtam.
After the formal session the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire and Medical officials also visited the isolation place in the district.
