The District Task Force (DTF) Kiphire held a review meeting under the chairmanship of the newly posted Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS at the DC’s office chamber on November 13. 

Chairing his first meeting with the DTF members, DC Ajit Kumar Ranjan said that the meeting could not take place with everyone occupied in the bye-election for 60 Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency. 

Some of the agenda discussed in the meeting were to prepare facility quarantine at DUDA guest house; to take care of food and its preparation at CCC by the District Administration; to prepare COVID-19 fund contribution expenses; Reopening of School for the higher classes will be operated on students voluntary basis.

Presenting overall COVID-19 related cases in the district, Dr Dheni informed that total COVID-19 positive patients from Kiphire district was 23 who have all recovered as such currently there was zero positive case in Kiphire. “So far Kiphire has not seen any COVID-19 related death in the district,” he stated. 

Dr Dheni also stated that 13 beds in general ward are been kept ready which can further be increased to treat any suspected COVID-19 patients. He further added that with the government issuing new SOP, medical department was strictly following and implementing the same.
