Kiphire, October 3 (MExN): A joint meeting with all the political parties and civil society organisations for the upcoming Bye-Election in 60 Pungro-Kiphire assembly constituency was held at DC Conference Hall Kiphire on October 3.
A DIPR report stated that AEO, Kiphire Olivi Thurr briefed about the election guidelines where she stated that the Returning Officer will be ADC Kiphire Nyempowallim and requested the political parties to take the nominations form from her office. She stated that during the nominations time only two persons and two vehicles will be permitted for each candidate and for holding rally and campaign first they have to seek permission from the DC office. She mentioned that PWD persons, 80 years & above and those persons staying in quarantine can cast their vote through postal ballot.
ADC Kiphire Nyempowallim urged all the political leaders to elect the right leaders who can bring changes and can benefit the Kiphire District. She appealed to the USLP and ward chairman to ensure that everyone should exercise their vote whether he/she is from weaker sections to maintain democratic means and practices. She encouraged all to have a free and fair election and further urged all the political parties to cooperate with the District Administration and various organisation and to abide by the guidelines till the election process is over.
