Kiphire, August 18 (MExN): After maintaining a COVID-19 free status till date, Kiphire district has reported its first suspected COVID-19 case.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abhinav Shivam,on August 18, informed the Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) members of the detection of one COVID-19 positive case via Truenat.
According to the DC, on August 17, one of the returnees at a quarantine centre in Kiphire was tested positive on Truenat.
The DC further said that the sample of the returnee has been sent to BSL-3 Lab in Kohima for confirmation.
Meanwhile, the returnee has been kept at the isolation ward in COVID-19 Hospital, Kiphire.
The DC urged the citizens of Kiphire not to panic or spread any unconfirmed information as the test result is yet to be confirmed. He also requested the Medical Department to keep detailed record of the returnees.
