Kiphire, June 6 (MExN): The Kiphire District Task Force held a meeting at the DC's Conference Hall on June 5, which was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & DTF Chairman Rahul Mali.
The meeting decided to conduct ward wise vaccination camp and accordingly, ward chairmen have been directed to activate 'Ward Task Forces' in their respective wards at the earliest. The ward authorities were directed to submit data of 18 years and above people who are interested in taking Covid vaccine with their name, age, ID card number and their mobile number to the District Immunization Office.
According to a DIPR report, Dr Moa Jamir called for early reporting and medication if a person is sick and has Covid-like symptoms, as in many cases, late reporting have been the cause of death. Briefing on SOPs on burial of dead body, Dr. Moa confirmed that once the corpse has been disinfected by the medical team, it cannot infect other people.
DTF members thanked the United Sangtam Lithroti Ashimukhong (USBLA) for offering Hopongkiu Memorial Hall for accommodation of the medical team in the post treatment of COVID patients. The members also discussed the issue of rumors and false views going viral on social media.
DC Rahul Mani said vaccination is the only solution and he encouraged the community leaders to lead by example by availing the vaccine themselves and create awareness and encourage people to take the vaccine.
