Kiphire, August 21 (MExN): A one-day workshop on child safety and security for PM SHRI Schools in Kiphire district was held at the DPDB Hall here on August 21.
The workshop focused on emergency evacuation procedures, basic first aid, fire safety, assembly and evacuation protocols, and the roles and responsibilities of teachers and school staff during disasters.
It also covered child safety and protection, psychological first aid, stress and trauma management, and appropriate psychological support for children following disasters and other emergencies.
The programme was chaired by Berela T, District Project Associate, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kiphire, while Takatemjen Pongen, NCS EAC, Kiphire, delivered the welcome address.
T Lichumse Sangtam, Assistant District Coordinator, DMA Samagra Shiksha, Kiphire, gave a brief overview of child safety and security measures for PM SHRI Schools.
District Education Officer (DEO) Narola Longkumer also attended the programme. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Zavito Ltu, EAC, Kiphire.
