Kiphire youths turn up in large number for skill training

With the aim to skill the untapped potential of youths and make them self-reliant, Nagaland Khadi and Village Industries Board in collaboration with Glocal Concepts Nagaland (GCN) is conducting skill development for rural employment training for youths of Kiphire at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall from April 19 to 21. 

More than 400 hundreds youths have registered to attend the three-day training. The youths will be trained on food processing, Beekeeping, Carpentry, toilet & laundry and soap making. 

Speaking at the inaugural programme, James T Khulu Tikhir, SDO (C) HQ, Kiphire expressed gratitude to the organizing department and collaborating agency for conducting such programme for the youths of Kiphire. “The massive turnout speaks volume where youths today are eager to learn and progress for growth and development,” he said. 

Informing that Kiphire as an Aspirational District, the administration plans of organizing such programme, the SDC thanked the department for bringing the training to the district instead of youths going out the district to pursue such facility and training. 

He urged the youths of Kiphire to make use of the opportunity to the fullest and learn as much as possible so as to stand on their feet and contribute towards the development of district. “As a society we need to uplift each other and if we have to be self sustaining economically money has to circulate within the state and the district,” he said. 

In his address, TS John Monsang, Branch Manager, SBI Kiphire pointed out that Kiphire has immense potential for business and such CV programme was the need of the hour to skill the youths. 

Highlighting various schemes and programmes launched by Government of India to help young entrepreneurs, he urged the youths to make use of the opportunity provided and participate on the development of society. 

Though government has announced various schemes, Monsang stated that in Kiphire he has hardly come across youths willing to take up business. He assured to provide loan and assistance by SBI to enable youth entrepreneurs to set up their own enterprise, provided they sincerely implement it. Pointing out the traits of successful entrepreneurs, he called upon the trainees to have knowledge, planning, dedication and motivation if one is to be successful in life. 

Delivering welcome address Kezhangulie Kire, President, GCN stated that he was overwhelmed by the huge response and expressed hope that youths of Kiphire will tremendously benefit from the training. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by T Toshisangla Jamir, Executive Officer, Kiphire and vote of thanks delivered by Rükravolie Rülho, PS to Advisory NKVIB, while invocation was pronounced by Chopongkyu Pastor, SBLK.
