KMC notifies on ASF zones in Kohima

Kohima, April 25 (MExN): With the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) in various locations under Kohima district and notified Infected Zone-Kidima Village (1 km radius of infected premises and Surveillance Zone (10 km radius from infected premises/9 km radius outside the infected), the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) in a circular stated that the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima has banned slaughter of pigs, import and export of pigs and piglets and transportation of pigs and pork. 

In this connection, KMC asked the public to strictly adhere the stated restriction until further order. All the concerned butchers, piglet dealers and wards under Kohima jurisdiction have been informed to strictly adhere the same order issued by Kohima DC  and to report the concerned department if found any suspicion in order to contain the disease at the earliest.
