Kohima College bids farewell to Thinokhrienuo Tseikha 

Kohima, November 18 (MExN): The Kohima College bade a farewell to Thinokhrienuo Tseikha, Vice-Principal and Associate Professor, Department of Education on November 17. 

A press release informed that a farewell programme was organised   by the college to appreciate her 35 years’ of service, the last 2 years of which had seen a great display ofimmersive leadership & endurance from her, during COVID-19 pandemic.

The programme featured special song performances by faculty members - both individually and as a group interspersed, with speeches of gratitude and acknowledgement from many, it said,

Among others, Dr Eunice Alinger equated Tseikha with the ‘proverbial Psalm 31 virtuous woman’, with her gift of diplomacy, her high work ethic and her enduring motto, “No work is too small.”

Students’ representative, Seiyie used PB Shelley’s Ozymandias to point out that unlike the forgotten king there, some Tseikha leave a legacy in the hearts of all the people they come across.

Reiteration of her superb professional ethics, walking the talk, her humanitarian approach to students, faculty members & ministerial staff etc were spoken about by the representatives of the KCTA. Abeni Zuchamo, Assoc. Prof., Education dept, Kaholi Chishi, Assoc. Prof & ministerial staff members, the release said. 

Tseikha, in her speech shared short glimpses of her 35 years of service at the College, having joined right after her Master’s degree programme.

 She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all for giving her the opportunity to serve. 

In her final message, she urged  students to take every opportunity to learn; to the ministerial staff to continue to be the productive wing of the college; and to the faculty members to never give up on any student. 

She also donated Rs 1 lakh for the welfare of the Kohima College students.

Dr Ralimongla Jamir, Principal, KCK expressed a sense of mixed sentiment—of sadness, as a most responsible college member leaves the college family fold and of happiness, in the light of. Tseikha’s many achievements.

She, as the others expressed appreciation to Tseikha’s admirable professionalism, spirit of voluntarism & for always having created a positive work environment.
