Kohima College launches two academic courses

Kohima, July 23 (MExN): Kohima College celebrated official launch of two academic courses namely Naga Indigenous Knowledge System and Communicative English & Creative Writing in English. 

The course on Naga Indigenous Knowledge System has been developed faculty members Dr Kekhrieseno Christina, Dr Konei Nakhro, and Dr Ketoukhrieü, stated a press release from Mass Media Cell, Kohima College

This course aims to preserve and promote the rich heritage and traditional wisdom of the Naga people, offering students a unique perspective on indigenous practices and cultural knowledge.

Meanwhile, Dr Ziuziu Iheilung and Dr Neikehienuo Mepfhuo have introduced “Communicative English & Creative Writing in English” course. Designed to enhance students’ language skills and creative expression, this course provides comprehensive approach to mastering English communication and literary creativity. 

The launch event was chaired by Associate Professor Kevinguno Rose. She highlighted the college’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities within Nagaland University’s FYUGP curriculum.

During the programme, faculties who have introduced these courses were felicitated for their contributions.

The new courses are expected to enrich the array of subjects available to undergraduate students, aligning with the broader objectives of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) curriculum offered by Nagaland University.

The launch marks a significant step towards diversifying and enhancing academic offerings in the region, providing students with a broader spectrum of learning opportunities and fostering a deeper understanding of both local and global knowledge systems, the release also stated.
