Kohima, October 9 (MExN): A farewell programme in honor of outgoing Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima Gregory Thejawelie, EAC Kohima I Changsang and SDO (C) Jakhama Alemyapang Longchar was held in DC's Conference Hall Kohima on October 9.
The outgoing DC in his farewell speech thanked the State government for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of Kohima district.
He said that with the support and coordination amongst his officers, the district could come thus far in being able to address various issues in the management system, maintaining law and order and especially during the pandemic crisis.
"The achievements were made possible only because every officer has contributed their valuable services" a DIPR report quoted the DC on Friday. Thejawelie also said that he had learnt many things during his short tenure and expressed that he had a wonderful experience as the head of the district. He further appreciated the efforts and contributions rendered by the officers and line departments in the fight against COVID-19.
He encouraged them to continue with the team work in future. Thejawelie will be joining his new assignment as Additional Secretary Power and will be posted at Nagaland Civil Secretariat, the report added.
Farewell speeches were also delivered by the outgoing SDO (C) Jakhama Alemyapang Longchar and EAC Kohima, I Changsang who have also been transfered and posted as SDO (C) Athibung and EAC Panso respectively.
Speech on behalf of officers and staff of DC’s office was delivered by SDO (C) Estb. Daniel Angami while CMO Kohima, Dr Vezokholu also spoke during the occasion.
The function was chaired by ADC Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa who also delivered the welcome address. Rev Vicavor Krose Director ABCCTK invoked God's blessing while special song was presented by Khunyü, PA to DC Kohima and party and vote of thanks was proposed by SDO (C) Sadar, Shaying Sheu.
