KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 28 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, has directed the immediate removal of roadside encroachments across Kohima city following instructions from the state government issued through the Urban Development Department on November 18.
According to the DC’s order, construction materials, off-road vehicles, unhygienic latrines, pig sties and similar structures placed along roadsides have encroached upon the National Highway Right of Way (ROW) and adjoining areas. Such encroachments, it said, obstruct the ROW, compromise road safety and pose risks to public health and the environment.
All individuals, households and establishments concerned have been instructed to remove these encroachments immediately in the interest of public safety and order.
