Kohima-Jessami 2-lane project: Phek DC hands over RoW to NHIDCL

Phek, February 26 (MExN): All the compensated villages, persons and groups along the proposed Right of Way (RoW) of National Highway-29 from Kohima-Jessami have been informed that the compensated lands or properties along the RoW have been handed over to NHIDCL for construction of 2-lane road.

In this regard, Phek Deputy Commissioner Razouvolie Dozo has notified all the village councils/local authorities to inform all concerned to cease all activities that could prove detrimental to the ongoing road construction project. According to the notification which was issued through the DIPR, the said activities include extraction of stones or boulders and other materials along the RoW, which would hamper the smooth execution of the road construction project.

Any defaulter(s) shall liable for penal action for obstruction and interference of public work, it added.

In another notification, the DC has informed all the villages/affected groups persons or groups to remove the compensated building and structures and other properties along the proposed RoW on or before March 15 so that the road construction activities can commence unhindered.

According to the order, in the event of failure to remove or dismantle the compensated properties and structures within in the stipulated time, and the same will be removed without any further notice or extension of time, the DIPR stated.
