Kohima, October 5 (MExN): In the latest incident of ‘stolen flowers’ in Kohima, “matured plants were uprooted and taken away” from opposite SKV Petrol Pump on October 4. 

Instances have been occurring in the recent past of certain elements indulging in destroying, stealing and marring plantations within the city, the most recent being opposite SKV Petrol Pump on the night of October 4 where matured plants were uprooted and taken away, stated a press release issued by Kovi Meyase, CEO, Kohima Smart City Development Limited. 

The CEO making an appeal to the public said that with an endeavour to beautify, spruce, facelift and also absorb dust pollutants in the city, the Kohima Smart City is undertaking plantations along the NH2 roadsides from Naga Hospital Colony till Phesama Check gate as part of the roadside plantation under Green Belt Development-Phase I.

The Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) has rendered that these plantations are public property and thus to treat them with due diligence. 

“This appeal is being issued therefore, to once again remind and request all to desist from such activities for the general benefit of all,” the CEO added.
