Kohima, September 30 (MExN): To review the ongoing progress of Medical College Phriebagei, Kohima, V Hekali Zhimomi IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GOI visited the medical college site on September 30.
An update from the IEC Bureau, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland stated that while at site a review meeting was held with Additional Secretary and her entourage Reena Hansdak, IAS, Assistant Secretary along with the officials from Deputy Director and above from the department under the chairmanship of Principal Director, Dr K Vikato Kinimi.
During the meeting, V Hekali Zhimomi IAS appreciated the department for the inputs of hard works and efforts for the medical college thus far.
She urged that the medical college be ready and functioning at the earliest for the welfare of the future scholars. Additionally, the infrastructure, clinical set up and faculty needs to be ready as soon as possible before the visitation of National Medical Council (NMC) team. Administrators, doctors and engineering wing should also sit for a meeting and carefully strategize the action plan before the NMC team visits.
She mentioned that funds and resources should be properly utilized and to prioritize the funds to allocate where the works is of utmost importance to swiftly finish the project and also to avoid difficulties with the limited resources.
Moreover, she suggested that technical professionals should be included during planning.
A presentation was exhibited by Engineering Wing on the project background and by NHP on Status Report on Schools of Nursing for up-gradation (GNM to BSC).
