Kohima, June 16 (MExN): Two people have been arrested by the Kohima Police in separate burglary cases in the state capital.
According to a press release from the PRO Kohima on Wednesday, acting on a complaint lodged by one doctor about the theft of personal documents and cash from his residence, personnel of North Police Station, Kohima arrested one Akhlas (22), a resident of Kasaba Dhantala, West Bengal, from Dimapur Airport on June 14. The accused was about to board a flight from Dimapur to Kolkata when he was arrested, it added.
During investigation, it was ascertained that the accused was working as a Lab Technician in a clinic run by the victim. Cash amounting to Rs 2,71,700 was recovered from his possession and based on the revelation by the accused, the stolen documents were also recovered., the release stated.
In another burglary incident, a team of Kohima police apprehended the accused involved in a burglary case at Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School (MHBHSS), Kohima on June 15.
Cash amounting to Rs 1,52,390 was recovered from the possession of the accused, the PRO stated.
The accused person was identified as Daniel Phom (22) who is presently residing at Paira colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur. In this connection a case has been registered at South Police Station for further investigation, it added.
