Kohima, August 3 (MExN): Kohima Police personnel manning Peducha police check gate detained 26 people proceeding to Imphal for non possession of Inner Line Permit (ILP) on July 31 around 12:00 am. The detainees were travelling in two Tata Wingers. In this connection, a case was registered U/S 3 BEFR Act and accused forwarded to court, a press release from PRO, Kohima Police informed.
On August 2 around 6:50 pm, Kohima Police personnel while conducting MVCP at Khuzama Village intercepted one Maruti 800 B/R No. NL01C-9884 and recovered 204 beer bottles and 82 rum bottles. Two occupants of the vehicle identified as Elizabeth (40) and Ch Amol (25) were arrested, the release also mentioned.
Again on the same day, 90 beer bottles, 71 rum bottles and 48 vodka bottles were recovered from Maruti Alto B/R. No. MN06L-7492. One Ester (29) and the driver Bijoy Subha (38) were arrested and a case under NLPT Act was registered for further investigation.
