Kohima police issues traffic regulations for Republic Day

Kohima, January 23 (MExN): The Kohima Superintendent of Police on Saturday notified traffic regulations to be enforced as part of security arrangement for the 72nd Republic Day celebration at Secretariat Plaza on January 26.

According to the notification issued through the PRO Kohima, only vehicles with Car Pass ‘A’ (Red) and Car Pass ‘B’ (Blue) will be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza. Vehicles with Car Pass ‘C’ (Green) will drop their respective officers at the Main Gate and shall be parked outside the Secretariat Complex.

Vehicles without car passes will not be allowed to enter the Secretariat Complex and shall be parked along the Assembly Secretariat road. 

It also prohibited vehicles including two wheelers from being parked on the roadside along the Raj Bhavan - TCP Gate - Razhu Point – High School - New Secretariat Complex route and New CM official Residence, Phezoucha to New Secretariat Complex route, starting 6:00 am till the programme is concluded. 

Heavy vehicles have also been prohibited from plying in Kohima town till the programme is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 7:00 am, the order stated. 

 “While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, the Police will tow away the defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicle owners,” it added.
