Mokokchung, February 22 (MExN): Police in Mokokchung district reported the death of a man identified as Imkongchiba, who was the nephew of JD (U) candidate Chalukumba Ao from Koridang constituency, according to a report from the PTI news agency.
Imkongchiba and another resident of Chungtia village were reported missing on February 21 night, but the other person returned home while Imkongchiba's body was found in a forested area near a road on Wednesday.
The JD (U) candidate suspects his political rivals were involved in the death and called on the police to investigate the matter, the PTI reported.
The BJP, NPF, and an Independent candidate are also competing for the Koridang constituency seat.
