KPA undergoes national accreditation process

Zunheboto, April 19 (MExN): The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) expert team visited Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) for evaluation of accreditation works in the institute from April 16 to18. 

The evaluation was done both on offline as well as online mode. The online exit meeting was conducted and chaired by Prof Ekram Husain, NBA Chairman along with four NBA experts while Er M Nakro, Principal, KPA, NBA Co-Ordinator KPA, HODs of all department and faculty attended the virtual meeting.

KPA Principal in a press release stated that the NBA experts of civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering gave their report on the strength and weaknesses of the respective departments at KPA as per their observations. They also suggested the areas where improvement is required. 

Prof Husain held an interaction with NPA Principal and faculty and shared observations about the strength and weakness of the institute. Prof Husain said, “The experts team are satisfied with the central facilities of the institute,” however, he pointed out the lack of banking facility, poor road conditions and internet connectivity which according to him are the backbone of any educational institution.

He suggested to the Principal to write it to higher authority and ensure that these deficiencies are attended to at the earliest.

In the vote of thanks, Er V Julia Achumi, HoD Mechanical Engineering department, KPA thanked the entire NBA team and reaffirmed to continue with the NBA process in the institute “to impart outcome-based education and enhance the employability of the technical students in Nagaland.” 

With this accreditation process, KPA has become the first polytechnic, under Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland to have undergone NBA accreditation process, it was informed.
