Kohima | October 17 : The Khuzama Students’ Care Union, Life Sports B and Kohima Science College today confirmed its ticket for the pre-quarters of the ongoing 12th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2011 after registering win in their respective matches at the Kohima Local Ground.
Khuzama SCU defeated Zephyr Akuk XI, Wokha 3-1 in the first match of the day.
Novito and Vituto netted a goal each for Khuzama SCU in the 5th and 22nd minute respectively and the team enthused with the lead 2-0 till the first half.
Soreno fetched a goal for Zephyr Akuk XI in the 45h minute of the second half. Zevito increased the score tally of Khuzama SCU in the 61st minute and the team sealed the victory box with a margin of 3-1.
With today’s win, Khuzama SCU will clash with Life Sports FC in the pre-quarters on October 19.
Life Sports B defeated Katalui FC, Senapati by a solidary goal in the second match. The winning goal for Life Sports B came through Khwetelhi Thopi in the 10th minute.
Life Sports B will now face Tangkhul SU in the pre-quarters on October 20.
Kohima Science College blanked Zhadi Boyz 2-0 in the third match of the day. L. Zaremo and Alex Phira netted a goal each for Kohima Science College in the 46th and 66th minute respectively.
With this, Kohima Science College will now clash with Genius XI, Khulazu Basa in the pre-quarters on October 19. Meanwhile, two pre-quarters match will be played on October 18.
Other teams figured in the catalogue of the subsequent pre-quarter matches included; Tsiekedi SC, Kma village vs St. Joseph College, Jakhama (Oct 18), Nagaland Police vs Saku’s Mission College, Dimapur (October 18), Lamkang Students Union vs Pholami Youth Org, Phek (20 October), 13th Assam Rifles vs Jotsoma Students’ Union (19th October) while Excel United will meet winner of October 18’s 2nd round match New Market XI vs The Spartan, Lower Agri on October 20.
The 12th edition of NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy 2011 will also witness three exhibition matches; Organizing Committee vs NSF (22nd October), Organizing Committee vs Kohima Press Club (25 October) and Organizing Committee vs Veterans (28 October).
