Tuensang, January 21 (MExN): The 44th Federal Assembly Session of Khiamniungan Students’ Union was held at Noklak Town on January 16. The Union has resolved to stop ‘non-local or outsiders from obtaining Khiamniungan citizenship.’ The Union has also expressed deep concern over the slow progress of the ongoing road construction under Noklak Sub-Division and therefore appealed the concern contractors to speed up the road construction and complete it within the stipulated time in greater interest of the people.
The Union in a release issued by President T. Beyan Khiam has also expressed deep gratitude to the NBSE department for upgrading the HSSLC Examination Centre at Noklak. KSU has also felicitated B. Tsumon Khiam who was crowned first runners up in Miss eastern Naga during the ENSF Cultural Festival at Tuensang. The Union also felicitated N. Mulei and B. Lamya for their success in NPSC examination as District Commanding Officer (Home Guard) and Sub-Treasury Officer respectively.
During the session Okei and Khomo were elected as the new Assembly speaker and secretary for the tenure 2008-09. The Union has extended its gratitude to DB and GB association Noklak Town, Noklak Town Adhoc Committee, Noklak Town Mothers Union, DIS and general citizens for their cooperation in making the session a successful one.
