The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central Working Committee (WC) today approved the name of Kachui Timothy Zimik as its official candidate for upcoming Lok Sabha elections to Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
The party announced that the ticket distribution ceremony will be held on March 21 at its Central office, Kohima.
Manipur has two Lok Sabha constituencies, the other being the Inner Manipur constituency and the elections to the two seats will be held in two phases.
While the Inner Manipur constituency and some areas of Outer Manipur will vote in Phase 1 on April 16, the remaining regions of Outer Manipur will vote in Phase 2 on April 26.
While announcing on the announcement of dates of the Lok Sabha elections on March 16, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that “all arrangements” would be made to allow people living in camps in violence-hit Manipur. The State has been engulfed in violence since May 3, 2023.
