KVK conducts training for farmers at Noklak

Dimapur, August 18 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tuensang conducted one-day training on ‘soil conservation in hill agriculture and soil nutrient management’ under the division of Plant Protection and Soil on August 17 at Noklak Village.   Resource person, Eliseni Tsopoe, SMS, Plant Protection spoke on the general management of insect-pests and diseases in winter vegetables and highlighted on the organic approaches for pest and disease management, it was stated in a release.  

Imtilemla, ACTO, Soil Conservation highlighted on the importance of soil and water conservation and nutrient management. She also trained the farmers on dual cropping of azolla with TRC paddy for soil nutrient management. She also explained the benefits and process of raising azolla in their homestead for different purposes, the release said. L. Hangthing, President of Thang (Noklak) Range Public Organization & Farmers Organization chaired the program. A film show on the demonstration of insect trap probe which is a latest technology invented by the TNAU for dealing with storage pests in grains was also screened at the training. Altogether 47 beneficiaries attended the training program.
