Participants during the vocational training programme conducted for rural youths at Porba from September 28 to October 1.
Phek, October 2 (MExN): A four day hands on vocational training programme on the topic Composting technologies was conducted by Dr T Esther Longkumer, CTO (Soil Science), KVK Phek, ICAR- NRC on Mithun for rural youths at Porba from September 28 to October 1.
A press release from T Esther Longkumer, CTO (Soil Sc), KVK Phek, NRCM (ICAR) stated that a lecture was delivered on the importance of soil health management, composting, benefits of composting and different types of composting. Composting methods and composting practices followed in different places were also made available to the participants through video presentation.
On the last day of the programme, demonstration on step by step procedure of vermicompost preparation and home composting were shown to the participants. Altogether, 22 rural youths participated in the programme.
