Kiphire, July 12 (MExN): The Kisetong Village Students' Union (KVSU) organised a one-day open penalty shootout tournament under the theme "Goal Against Drug Abuse" on July 11, in collaboration with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Kiphire Printing Press and Secret Urban Outfits.
The tournament began with a kick-off programme during which Zisela, OST Counsellor at District Hospital Kiphire, delivered a talk on drug abuse and the importance of creating awareness among the youth.
A total of 17 teams participated in the tournament.
Hurong Village Students' Union emerged champions and received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with certificates.
Hunter XI finished runners-up and was awarded Rs 10,000 along with certificates.
The Best Goalkeeper award went to Tutsuthong of Hunter XI, who received gift hampers sponsored by Secret Urban Outfits.
The organisers said the event witnessed enthusiastic participation and concluded successfully.
KVSU expressed gratitude to all participating teams, collaborating organisations and individuals for their support in making the anti-drug awareness tournament a success.
