A five day long 50th Anniversary celebration of Kiruphema Youth Organisation (KYO) concluded at Kiruphema Ground under Kohima district on December 21.
The five-day celebration, held with much enthusiasm and unity, culminated in games, athletics, and cultural activities, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the youth.
The event featured competitions among 8 peer groups, with Dzüvi Kro-u emerging at the top of the medal tally, a testament to their exceptional performance and dedication.
Dzüvi Kro-u emerged men’s football champion while Kezekevi Kro-u bagged men’s volleyball champion title.
The closing ceremony was graced by Dzüvi-u Zhünyü, president, Western Angami 'D' Public Organisation as the guest honour.
In his address, Zhünyü commended the youth for their active participation and encouraged them to continue fostering unity and progress within the community.
KYO stated that the celebration of this milestone anniversary not only highlighted the achievements of the past but also set a vision for the future, emphasizing community development, cultural preservation and sportsmanship.
Meanwhile, KYO expressed gratitude to all participants, peer groups, and well-wishers towards the success of the landmark event.
As part of the grand celebration, an exciting exhibition football match took place between Kiruphema Youth Organisation and Tsiesema Youth Organisation with 50 each participant from both the team, showcasing a spirit of unity, camaraderie, and the rich historical relationship shared by the two communities.
