A two-day exchange field visit programme was held between Land Resources department of Phek and Tuensang on March 19 and 20.

The Phek team was led by Levi Bennett District Project Officer (DPO), Land resources while the Tuensang team was led by Puthuto Natso.

They visited Chendang, C/Saddle and Perma farm in Chingmai.

During the interaction, DPO Phek appreciated the sincere implementation of PMKSY IWMP WDC works in the field and encouraged the farmers to maintain the same enthusiasm in all developmental activities so that they harvest the fruit of development.

Pointing out the learnings from the field, the DPO shared that the harvesting and nursery making of xanthoxylum Mejinga is new for the team. He added that they would teach the farmers in Phek district about the same.

Welcoming the team, DPO Tuensang Natso said that the programme is an encouragement and learning for the district as well. He also asked the visiting team to share their learning with the villagers in Phek district.

Farmers at Chendang shared about plantation of potato, cabbage, pea and other crops grown in the field. They also shared on harvesting process of cabbage seeds.
