TUENSANG, JULY 10 (MExN): Located at the extreme end of Nagaland bordering Myanmmar, the Lang Mini Hydro Project is at present executing after it was surveyed way back in the mid-eighties. The Pangsha Village Council said that the power department has now identified the project and fortunately the project was taken up by the DAN government under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio who is also the Power Minister.
“We are grateful to the CM for taking up many development activities in our areas, it is also to be noted that he personally visited the project site in June 2006 and encouraged the contractors to speed up the construction works”, VCP Chairman M Haimong said in a release.
The Council has appreciated the contractors for working tirelessly with dedication though the location of the hydro project is very far away with no proper means of communication or transportation. Also in the release, the Council has appreciated the Power Department and the contractors including Pele Khezhie and Howoto Jakhalu for their service to the community.
