The Silver Jubilee celebration of Lanki Kiliki Tokukujo (LKTKK) culminated at Kulhopu village in Zunheboto District under the theme ‘Forward in Retrospection.’ The event saw the esteemed presence of Shikaho P Yeptho, General Manager of NST, Government of Nagaland, as the chief guest.
In his speech, Yeptho emphasised the importance of time management and the three key stages of life observation, gaining knowledge, and practical application.
He highlighted that gaining quality education is essential for personal and community growth. He urged the SRSU and ZRSU students’ bodies to support LKTKK’s efforts in establishing the Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) affiliation body, which he believes will play a crucial role in the student community.
Yeptho also reflected on his own school days, recalling how he studied by the light of a “Chalak” – a makeshift candle made from a glass bottle, demonstrating how far he has come through hard work and perseverance. He shared life lessons with the audience, stating that lazy people harvest little and that one should never curse their parents. He encouraged the attendees to be the voice of the voiceless and to avoid mixing politics with church and civil society matters.
The programme was chaired by Kivika G Zhimo, Secretary of the Planning Board, and featured speeches from various organizations within the LKTKK community. The event concluded with a cultural display showcasing the rich traditions of the region.
