‘Last’ special train brings 580 citizens to Nagaland

Dimapur, June 16 (MExN): A Shramik special train arranged by the Government of Nagaland for carrying 580 stranded Nagaland citizens from Delhi reached Dimapur on June 16. 


According to officials, it was the last special train arranged by the government of Nagaland for stranded citizens from the state.


The train arrived with 580 passengers out of which 211 were from Dimapur, 28 from Mon, 41 from Tuensang, 5 from Longleng, 18 from Kiphire, 53 from Phek, 24 from Zunheboto, 12 from Mokokchung, 27 from Wokha, 96 from Peren and  65 from Kohima.


After medical screening at the railway station all the returnees were sent to their respective districts after providing food packs while those from Dimapur were taken to Agri Expo for undergoing the required protocol, according to updates from the State’s DIPR. 


Among the returnees, one from Peren and 3 from Kohima district were shifted to COVID-19 Hospital Dimapur for further observation. 


 The rest of the returnees will be quarantined as per Standard operating procedures at their respective districts, it said. 


The returnees were received at the railway station by APC Nagaland who is also in-charge of Dimapur district COVID 19 activities,  Kikheto Sema, DC Dimapur Anoop Kinchi,  Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, Honje Konyak, Commissioner of Police, Rothihu Tetso, CMO Dimapur Dr Tiasunep, government officials from different departments and church leaders.
