Late Ghokheto Chophy mourned

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 13 (MExN): Condolences continued to pour in with regard to the demise of late Ghokheto Chophy, Naga Council Dimapur President in New Delhi on December 11. 

NPP: The National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State said that late Chophy will always be remembered by generations to come as a man of upright nature who not only led the Naga Council Dimapur towards its goals and objectives but also guided the Naga society with deep wisdom and rare acumen. “His earthly demise has left a deep void in the modern intelligentsia of Nagaland in particular and the Naga society in general which will be hard to fill in days to come,” it added.

CNSA: The Central Nagaland Students' Association (CNSA) also expressed sadness and remembered the late NCD President as an upright person and a selfless leader. “It is a matter of great loss not only for the people of Dimapur but it has created a vacuum in Naga society,” it stated while conveying condolences to the bereaved family. 

TUD: The Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) said that late Chophy “gave his utmost for the living conditions of Dimapurians in particular and worked tirelessly to ameliorate the status of life in all spheres for all in general.” “His sacrifices and contributions impacted the conditions of life and will continue to do so in the future. In his death a big void has been created that is difficult to be filled. We can only cherish the good deeds accomplished by him,” it stated. 

NMDA: The Nagaland Medical Dealers Association (NMDA) said that late Chophy was an “extraordinary man.” It added that “there are many who will mourn his passing as his life was of selfless service for the people, love, commission and excellence.” “The Naga people and the people of Nagaland have lost a dedicated leader who always stood beside the people,” it stated. 

DBS: The Dimapur Bengali Samaj (DBS) extended sympathies to the bereaved family and said that the late NCD President was a committed and efficient leader who worked with utmost integrity for Dimapurians. “He was a visionary leader,” a press release from the DBS Press Secretary, Biplab Paul stated.
