Lazami Students' Union celebrates platinum jubilee

Lazami, December 29 (MExN): With the theme, "75 Strides and Beyond,"  the platinum jubilee of the Lazami Students' Union (LSU) started on December 29 with the Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation, G Kaito Aye as the special guest. 

Lauding the LSU on its milstone, Aye in his speech acknowledged and appreciated the pioneers of the union, under whose yesterday's effort and vision, the union could come thus far. 

He also exhorted the leaders of the village and students community to be honest and sincere in their responsibilities for the betterment of the village Community. 

In this fast changing world, Aye further encouraged the students to work hard and acquire excellent knowledge and wisdom to lead and safeguard the community and also be a torch bearers for others. 

He also called upon the gathering to have sympathetic and humane feelings towards one another and promote peace for cordial co-existence in our society. 

“We should be practical with our thoughts and action and adapt ourselves with the fast changing environment so that we can progress at par with other community," the Minister added. 

A press release from LSU President Khuvishe Swu informed that earlier the celebrated started  with invocation prayer by Ino Hokato Futhena, Youth Secretary, SABAK while Ino Inakhe Swu, Convener, Planning Board, Platinum Jubilee delivered the welcome note.

It was followed by release of Jubilee Souvenir and presidential address by LSU President.

Short Speeches were also delivered by Joshua Sumi, Former Deputy Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly and the Chairman of Lazami Village Council.
