'Learning science without memorizing' workshop conducted

Dimapur, April 3 (MExN): Organized by the Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (DSSU) in collaboration with Indigenous Cultural Society (ICS) and Jan Jati Vikas Samiti (JJVS), the Teachers’ Training cum Students’ Workshop which started on April 3 at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Dimapur concluded on Thursday.

The programme was conducted under the theme “learning science without memorizing.”

The training cum workshop was conducted by three eminent social workers in the field of education- Sharad Godse, Achyut Sapre and Vinayak Dixit, all from Maharashtra.

Godse said his objective of coming to Nagaland and sharing his knowledge has been fulfilled. He expressed satisfaction with the response received and attributed the success of the programme to the will of the teachers and students to learn.

One of the teachers who participated in the programme said that the training has benefitted the teachers. With the knowledge equipped during the training, he expressed optimism that the science classroom atmosphere would improve which in turn would help the students fare better.

A representative of ICS lauded the DSSU for organizing the programme. Teachers who undertook the training were presented with certificates. Hundreds of students from nine schools and 33 Science teachers from various schools in Dimapur took part in the training cum workshop.
