DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 12 (MExN): 36 bottles of rum and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) were seized by the Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) during the Night Bazaar in the month of November and during the Tokhu Emong celebration at Wokha.

A press release from the LEH informed that the seized liquor was destroyed on December 10 in the presence of various women leaders from the various colonies of Wokha Town. The seized items included quarter and a half-sized bottles of IMFL Old Monk Rum.

“The last destruction of illegal seized item received at Wokha police station was reported to be destroyed on April 17 by a joint destruction committee,” the press release informed.

The LEH has meanwhile discouraged the idea of making local wines and the sale of wine in Wokha Town during festivals “as it contains harmful chemical substance added during brewing, which to them is also an alcohol adulterated process.”
