Dimapur, January 8 (MExN): Leos from across five Asian countries participated in a winter relief drive from December 20 to 30.

A total of 59 clubs from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan participated in the drive which was initiated by Leo Club of Dimapur (Dist. 322D), Leo Club of Gauhati Girls (Dist. 322G) and Leo Club of Moratuwa (Dist. 306 A1).

The aim of the winter relief drive was to identify people who are in need of warm clothes, especially the poor people, and distribute the same to them, stated Sneha Jain, PRO - Leo Club of Dimapur in a press release. 

“Leos from across the five Asian countries collected old warm clothes from their own households and their near and dear ones and distributed to the thousands of poor people who sleep out on the streets and struggle a lot especially during winters,” Sneha added. 

Leo Club of Dimapur, Leo District 322D India distributed warm clothes to over 250 needy people. The project was witnessed by IPDP Rishab Chhabra and done under the leadership of Vishal Patni.  

“When combined, the joint effort of Leos from all the clubs helped a total of 4854 people through the winter relief drive, In the drive, total Leo volunteers present were 258 and total Leo volunteers Hours was 518,” the release stated.
