Kisama, December 2 (MExN): The much-awaited Naga Chef Season 8 cooking competition began at Naga Chef Arena, Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 2.
According to a press release, 10 contestants were shortlisted from the screening round to compete for the coveted title of Naga Chef this year. For the first round of the competition, the contestants had to showcase their culinary skills by preparing a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian Naga dish, it stated.
The competition will have several rounds that will identify different skills required to be a successful chef and entrepreneur. Contestants will be assessed on specific cooking skills, creativity and innovation, experience and knowledge of local cuisine, passion for food and the art of cooking, ability to work under pressure, attitude and teamwork skills.
A DIPR report added that the competition will conclude on December 9 and the winner will be announced on December 10. This year’s Naga Chef Winner will walk away with prize money of Rupees three lakh and gift hampers worth over two lakh.
