Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho has condemned the March 22 incident at Lamhainamdi village in Peren district where three persons were killed. “This act of violence is nothing but a breach of the hard earned peaceful co-existence in the State that the tribes of Nagaland had been advocating all these years,” it stated in a press release on Tuesday.
The LH appealed the State Government to expeditiously investigate the crime and punish the perpetrators without fear or favour. “We also suggest the State Government to come out with a mechanism or policy to put an end to occurrence of such incidence where land disputes are prone to occur especially in Dimapur area,” it added.
LRD: The Liangmai Ruangdi Delhi vehemently condemned the incident stating that “The fratricide has poisoned the minds of the people, with consequences for future generations.” In a press release, the LRD said it was appalled by the “inaction and impotence of the state armed forces and their delay in reporting to the crime scene,” and called upon the Government of Nagaland to investigate the crime as expeditiously as possible so that responsible individuals and parties are found and brought to justice. It also expressed confidence that the parliamentarians and CSOs would use their political and moral authority “to exert pressure on the Government to play an active role in shedding light on the criminal investigation” and in promoting a peaceful and just solution to the victim’s family and Zeliangrong people.
Expressing solidarity and condolences to the families and friends of the victims, the LRD urged all right thinking and peace loving Nagas to take a stand against the horrific crime.
