Lions Club to hold peace poster drawing contest

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): The Lions Club of Dimapur will be organizing its 33rd annual peace-poster drawing contest on the theme ‘Peace through Service.’ The contest is open to the children of the age 11 to 13 years.

A press release from the club informed that cash prize and certificate will be awarded to three local winners.

Out of the participating children, two best paintings will be selected by the club and will be sent to the Lions District Governor 322-D. The district will select the best painting for Lions Multiple District and then, it will be forwarded to the Lions International for final selection. 

The International Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip to a special award ceremony with one family member and the sponsoring Lions Club member and also cash award of US $ 5000, besides a plaque. Each of the 23 merit award winners from the multiple districts will receive a cash award of US $500 and a certificate of achievement. 

The Contest is open to the children born between November 16, 2006 and November 15, 2009. Artwork must be no smaller than 13/20 inches and no larger than 20/24 inches. Pencils, crayons, pens, markers, paints or chalks may be used to create the posters (chalk, charcoal & pastel entries should be sealed with a fixative spray to prevent smearing)

The use of words or numbers on the front of the posters, in any language, is not allowed. The art work has to be submitted at the Euro International School, Midland, Dimapur on October 5 between 10:00am and 1:00pm.
