Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): The Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) Nagaland State Political Affairs Committee held a meeting on July 18 in Dimapur, where they adopted key resolutions concerning the political climate and future of Nagaland.
The committee expressed its appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for securing his third consecutive term. "We place on record our sincere appreciation and wish him good health and a very successful tenure," the committee stated in a press release.
A major focus of the meeting was the long-standing Naga Political issue. The committee emphasized the necessity for a singular, inclusive, honorable, and acceptable solution. They urged the Government of India to expedite the resolution process. "The LJP (RV) Nagaland is of the strong opinion that the solution will be one and therefore urges the Government of India to bring about a Naga Political Solution at the earliest," the committee declared.
The committee meanwhile observed that the recognition of multiple factions by the Government of India complicates the issue further. They called on both the government and the Naga negotiating groups to concentrate efforts on resolving the political deadlock. "Creation of many factions and recognizing it by the Government of India is not helping to resolve its complex Naga Political issue," they noted.
Additionally, the committee appealed to the Nagaland state government to facilitate and expedite negotiations with the central government. They stressed the unified desire of the people and the collective purpose of all 60 elected members to resolve the issue. "We urge the Government of Nagaland and the Political Affairs Committee on Naga Political issue to vigorously facilitate with the Government of India for an early solution," they stated.
