LJP (RV) appeals CEO to withdraw notice for violating guidelines

Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has appealed to the Nagaland Chief Electoral Office to withdraw a notice issued to the party for alleged violation of guidelines and rules.

“Neither our intent was of violating the guidelines and rules and nor the act was deliberate,” the party’s state President S Richard Humtsoe said in a letter to the Joint CEO.

In the letter, a copy of which was released to the media on Wednesday, Humtsoe stated that necessary corrective actions have been taken with regard to ‘Media violation by the party,’ and the media published has been removed.

“We would also like to assure you that we are fully committed to adhering to all the guidelines and rules prescribed by your esteemed office. In regard to the issue of this particular post referred by your office in this letter, kindly note that the same was removed immediately,” the letter stated without going into details of the nature of post.

It further clarified that the post "was part of several tweets released by the party during the prescribed hours. “However, it seems that the same got published much later on Twitter, which may be due to bad network, software issues or technical glitches on the part of Twitter,” it said. It not only stands corrected but also other postings and appeals have been stopped completely.

“It was a single such post that got off the tangent due to technical issues and hence should not be treated as a violation,” it said while requesting the election authority to withdraw the notice.
