CM to launch decentralized sanitation services
 
Kohima, August 1 (DIPR):
Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio will grace the launching of “De-Centralised Sanitation Services in Kohima” on August 2 at State Academy Hall Kohima. The launching programme is being organised by the Kohima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) and Kohima Municipal Council (KMC). Administrator KMC Alung Hangsing will chair the programme while Rev. Moa Longchari Pastor BMC will pronounce the invocation prayer. Convenor Advisory Board KMC, Er. Y. Chuba Ao will deliver the welcome address and short speeches will also be delivered by Advisor, IT&C and Chairman DPDB, Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü and Chairman NKVIB & Music Task Force, Dr. Nicky Kire followed by vote of thanks from the chairperson.

IGAR (N) greets Ao community on Tsungremong festival

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 1 (MExN):
Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, AVSM, SM, VSM, IGAR (N) and all ranks of Assam Rifles extend “very warm greeting to people to the Ao tribe on “Tsungremong festival”. While wishing the tribe prosperity in all spheres and “endeavour to push towards everlasting peace” in the region. In this greeting message, IGAR (N) also conveyed sincere prayers to the Almighty to “keep a benign eye on the Ao and the people of Nagaland to bring about peace, prosperity and tranquility in the days to come”.  The press note was issued by Lt Col RP Velu, PRO, IGAR (N).

NU interview for M.A in English

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN):
The admission committee has published the list of the candidates called for interview for M.A. in English, Nagaland University, in the department of English, Kohima campus, at Meriema.  A press note issued by Convenor, Admission Committee, Dept. of English, Nagaland University  stated that candidates with   serial nos. 1 to 45    are   to  appear  for   interview on      August 16 or 17, 2011   from  10:00 am to 1:00 pm  along with their original mark-sheets & documents.  Failing which candidates in the waiting list will be called for interview in order of merit.  Literature related questions will be asked at the interview.

TGSUK freshers meet on Aug 6

Kohima, August 1 (MExN):
The Tesophenyu Group Students’ Union Kohima will hold its 17th session of fresher’s meet on August 6 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima. K.T. Thomas, joint director, Tourism will grace the session as the chief guest. The Union requested the students, senior, officials and parents to grace the occasion.

Tuensang DPDB meet on Aug 6

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN):
District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for month of August, 2011 for Tuensang district is scheduled on August 6, 2011 at 11:00 am in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang. A press note issued by Y.L Jami, IAS, deputy commissioner & vice chairman DPDB stated that all District Planning and Development Board members/HoDs Tuensang district are requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting positively.

ZBH mourns demise of Makuga Gonmei

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN):
The Zeliangrong Baudi (Hoho) Dimapur has expressed deep shock over the demise of Makuga Gonmeni, Rtd. NCS officer of Nagaland State Government and a prominent Zeliangrong elder on July 31, 2011 at Dimapur after prolonged illness. A condolence note issued by N.Diswang Hau, ZBH stated that late Makuga was one of the most dedicated and sincere NCS officer who served the Nagaland government in various post and capacities.  “He was also deeply involved with public welfare and had served the Zeliangrong Community during his students’ career and even after retirement from service in various aspects. He had also written many valuable books on the Zeliangrong customs and traditions. He was one of our most respected elder whom we love, admired and honor as our guardian and a true leader,” stated the note. The note further stated that Zelaingrong people will also cherish his selfless contribution towards the progress, unity and integrity he had stood for the cause and upliftment of the Zeliangrong Community and also said that his death was a great loss to the Zeliangrong Community. The Zeliangrong Baudi Hoho Dimapur, on behalf of the Zeliangrong people of Assam, Manipur, Nagaland conveys deep condolence to the bereaved family.

CCSUK freshers’ social on Aug 6

Kohima, August 1 (MExN):
The Chang College Students’ Union Kohima will hold its 8th freshers’ social on August 6 at Red Cross Complex, Kohima from 10:30 am onwards. Parliamentary secretary for transport & mechanical engineering P. Dako Phom will be the chief guest while Züngküm Chang, PS to MLA & advisor VGS, DBs, GBS affairs will be the guest of honour. Short speech will be delivered by president Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) and Y. Among Chang, additional director, art & culture. The function will be marked by melodious tune, freshers voice, award to meritorious students, traditional display and entertainment session. Meanwhile, the Union informed all the students to come in traditional attire. Further, the Union will impose a fine of Rs. 100 against those students failing to attend the session. The members have also been informed to submit their membership amounting Rs. 50.
